    Delete Your UpSpeech Account or Data

    This page explains how to delete your UpSpeech account, or specific data, and what happens to your information when you do. It applies to the UpSpeech mobile app and web platform, published by UPSPEECH, SOCIEDADE UNIPESSOAL, LDA.

    Delete your account from the app

    1. Open UpSpeech and sign in.
    2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
    3. Choose Delete everything.
    4. Type the confirmation phrase and confirm.

    Your account is deactivated right away and the deletion is processed. This cannot be undone from inside the app.

    Delete your account by email

    If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from your account's email address with the subject "Account deletion request". We respond within 30 days.

    Delete specific data without deleting your account

    You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data:

    • Recordings - delete individual audio or video recordings in the app; this also removes them from our cloud storage.
    • Reports - therapists can delete specific reports.
    • Other requests - email [email protected] to request deletion or restriction of specific data.

    What is deleted

    When you delete your account, we remove:

    • Account information (name, email address, role, language preference)
    • Audio and video recordings and their metadata
    • Transcriptions, AI-generated reports, and speech-analysis data
    • Practice and progress data
    • In-app messages

    What may be kept, and for how long

    • Backups - deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before permanent removal.
    • Legal retention - we may keep certain records longer where required by law, for example fraud prevention or legal disputes.
    • Optional anonymized training data - only if you explicitly opted in to model-training consent and choose to keep your recordings at deletion time, anonymized audio (with your name, user ID, filenames, transcripts, and reviewer notes removed) may be retained to train future versions of UpSpeech. Choosing "Delete everything" removes these too.
